I don't know about you guys, but summer is one of my favorite times of the year. I love being able to go to the beach and spend late night adventures with my friends. Below you can find my Summer Bucket list! I can't wait to get out of the house (especially since I have been staying safe inside since March). I know we can all relate to the long lasting feeling of pining for outdoor adventures. Let me know if you have any specific Goals to achieve this summer below!
1. Go On Vacation with my Best Friends:
I have been waiting since graduation to take a proper girl's trip with my best friends. Whether it's heading to San Francisco, a weekend in palm springs or even another state, I can't wait to explore new grounds along my "sisters".
2.Watch the Sunrise at the Beach:
The BEACH! The SUN! The relaxation. When I was younger, I didn't go to the beach as much as I would've liked, but now I am definitely taking advantage! As a lover of waking up early and listening to the peaceful earth as everyone is still enjoying their abundance of sleep, I would love to lay a blanket down, listen to the waves crash, and bask in the various colors of the sunrise.
3.See a Movie at the Drive In:
This has become a tradition within my friends and I. Ever since my sophomore year in high school, we have made it a point to pack a bunch of food (especially fries and donuts) (don't worry, I bring veggies too), blankets, and games into our cars and just have the time of our lives as we get to experience a classic tradition. This is one of the few things I know for sure will come back after social distancing and COVID-19 has slowed down. People won't have to sit together in order to enjoy each other.
4.Go to the Lake:
Believe it or not, I have never been to a lake and to top it off, I have only ever gone camping twice (one of which being a school function). It's not that I am against it, it's just that my family has never been the camping type. This summer I want to take the chances to do what I can and spend as much time as I can with those around me. If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is to cherish the time you have now and seize the day.
5.Go to a New Place Every Week
My friends and I made a plan for the summer. There are about five of us and we decided that each week one of us would choose the activity that we would all at least try. With this we will all get to try something new and have fun with one another at the same time.
6.Have a Bonfire
Now this is what Summer is all about. Sitting around a fire, close to the pool or ocean, enjoying some music and with all the people you care about singing, telling stories and just plain relaxation. And of course, with food. This has always been my favorite part about Summer. I think that bonfires have a way of bringing people together and letting them just talk and release the tension or stress that they may be feeling. I know it's not meant to be that deep, but when around fire and water, people have a tendency to let go a little bit more.
7.Go to an Amusement Park
From Disneyland to Universal Studios, you can find fun at any amusement park close to you. Every year I had the chance to got to Disneyland with my team and I especially missed going this year! Going over the hot Summer season after being holed up in the house is the perfect way to have fun and let go of any stress or worries. You can't help but have fun at Disneyland.
Now I know that with everything going on right now, we don't know how Summer is going to play out, but I think we should make the most of it regardless. The most important thing to remember as we start to head back into society is to stay safe. Wash your hands, keep your distance when possible, and remember that you are responsible for your own health, but you also need to be mindful of others. I hope everyone enjoys their Summer in the best way possible!
